“…well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” ~ Matthew 25:23
Surely, we all want to someday arrive in heaven and hear the words “well done” from our Lord and Savior. God has given us gifts to invest; to deepen our faith, to increase His glory on earth, and to create disciples and grow his church. By giving as we are able, joyfully, and without fear, we are helping our church have an even greater impact on this world. It is our responsibility and also a blessing to do so.
The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9: 6-7). To God be the glory!
Prayer
Dear God, we thank you for all the gifts you have given so freely to us. Please help us to give to you, and for your glory, our time, our talents, and our money as that cheerful giver who will someday hear those coveted words “well done.” We ask in Jesus’ name. Amen
